My wife Lissa and I have been together for 27 years. We both
love all types and breeds of dogs, but we both have always had a
special bond with German Shepherds. Both my wife & I
had German Shepherd dogs when we were kids growing up. In
1984, after graduating high school, I went to National K-9 school for
dog trainers and took the Master Trainer's course to become a certified
dog trainer in obedience, advanced obedience, utility dog training,
personal protection, attack, police K-9 and kennel management.
Also, it covered how to run and operate a kennel, canine diseases,
kennel designs, writing up contracts and public relations in the canine
field. That was 25 years ago this year and I'm still at
it. The last 13 years I have worked at Doran's
Canine College
for the well known and respected Walter Doran. I have gained
more canine knowledge working with so many different breeds of dogs and
people from all over the world. I'm still not done
learning.
I would like to thank Anne Morrison of Great Oak Shepherds for helping
me learn the A.K.C. Rally Obedience. Anne also owns two of the
best German Shepherds that you will ever see. Also, I would like
to thank Julie Roller and Jamie Feathers for their help at the A.K.C.
trials in showing me how to run the courses.
